I originally wrote it for the people sorting out the images on JoanCope to speedily size down and compress thier massive TIFF files to JPEGs. I also wrote it so the old gallery at optional info dot com could be smaller and also indexed. Hence the index file RJGIS generates. Currently it will read the following formats... * JPEG * TIFF * PNG * BMP * GIF And save to the following formats... * JPEG * PNG * BMP Things it can do... * Compress a range of image formats * Batch process directories at a time * postfix new file names * take out bad characters from filenames * scale down images W*H by %age * create an INI style index that can easily be used in php scripts.
